Livestock theft Haxey/Owston Ferry |
||
|
On Saturday 14th February between 1pm and 6pm, three cows were stolen from a small farm in the Haxey/Owston ferry area. The farm had recently been visited by three white males driving a white, flat bed Ford transit towing a livestock trailer asking the occupant if they could buy hay. Please be mindful and report any suspicious activity, persons and vehicles around farms, and in particular livestock. Theft of livestock not only has a financial impact on farmers but can also be traumatic, losing animals that are cared for on a daily basis. Such offending is associated wityh animal welafre issues, as the dispatch and biutchering are unregulated. There is also a public safety concern as the food enters the food chain, again unregulated. If anyone has any information regards the theft, please call 101 quoting crime number 26*22336. | ||
